In proximity to Everest, a peak of 6,119 metres, Lobuche Peak Climbing, is the ideal mountain to kickstart the mountaineering journey. Often an extended trip, first Everest Base Camp trek and climb Lobuche east on return, the trekker's desire to climb Lobuche has skyrocketed for decades. Not only for trekkers, for those who are looking up their career in mountaineering, but the Lobuche East Peak expedition also gives the actual taste of the mountaineering world.

In the vicinity of the infamous Khumbu Glacier, the two ridges of Lobuche, Lobuche East, and Lobuche Far East, stand spectacular. Due to its ideal location, the summit of Lobuche East offers magical glimpses of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and many mountains in the Everest region.

Route to Lobuche East Peak Base Camp

For the Lobuche East Peak Climbing in Spring/Autumn 2023-2024, we'll follow the classic Everest Base Camp trek route till Gorak Shep, hike down to Lobuche, Trek to Lobuche Base Camp, and prepare for the summit push.

You'll take Kathmandu to Lukla flight after a pre-expedition briefing by your expedition guide and tour manager, Y. The 40 minutes flight to Luka is scenic and thrilling.

After landing at Lukla, the gateway to Everest, you'll hike to Phakding for overnight sleep. En route to Phakding, you'll witness beautiful Sherpa settlements, farmlands, rushing Dudh Koshi, and more.
From Phakding, you'll hike to Namche Bazar and accommodate another day as acclimatisation. The acclimatisation hikes include a trip to Hotel Everest View at Syangboche, the mountain museum in Namche, Khumjung village, etc.

From Namche Bazar, you'll gain altitude to Tengboche, a notable Buddhist settlement and serene Tengboche Monastery. The further hikes to Dingboche, Pheriche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep takes us closer to Lobuche East Peak. En route, the magical glimpses of Ama Dablam, Tawoche, Nuptse, and Pumori keep the hike entertaining.

In Lobuche peak climbing, the Base Camp sits over 4,800 metres, where you'll be accommodated in tented camps. You'll have one day for acclimatisation and climbing preparation at the base camp. The climbing Sherpa guide will deliver the crucial information and techniques to all climbers in the group. We'll also have a buffer day to deal with weather, health, and fatigue. We'll climb the summit of Lobuche East Peak in the best weather window with a stable temperature.

Lobuche Peak- Climbing Preparation and route to summit

Dream Heaven Adventure will organise tented camps in Lobuche East Peak Base Camp for accommodations. The setting of the base camp gives you moments to glimpse the magical sunrise and sunset over the mountains to the horizon. The following training and acclimatisation period will prepare you for the summit push with 24/7 observation from the climbing guide.

You'll first climb to Lobuche East High amp at 5,600 metres before attempting its summit. The glacial moraines terrain for High Camp is an ideal location for spellbinding glimpses of mountains in the Mahalangur range. Your Sherpa guide fixed the rope before the Lobuche east expedition starts. To reach the summit, you have to navigate the peak with the help of a fixed rope.

The most common route, the South East route to the summit is technical and comprises rocks and snow. Thus, climbers have to navigate this arduous terrain. The use of crampons on steeper icy walls is a must as you climb further in the South East route. We recommend every climber to attach their harness to a fixed rope till the summit and back to the high camp. It ensures your extra safety.

The Lobuche east summit push takes ten hours. The summit climb is regarded with magical glimpses of mountains on every corner of the Everest region. You'll witness four of the world's fourteen highest mountains from the summit of Lobuche east peak.

You'll climb down to Lobuche base camp the same day after a successful summit climb.

Best time for Lobuche Peak Climbing

Climbing Lobuche East Peak in Autumn and Spring gives the utmost sightseeing experience from the summit. Also, the stable temperature and clear weather make the climbing comfortable and successful.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Difficulty

Lobuche East peak, in general, is an acclimatisation mountain for Everest summiteers. Many Everest climbers often climb Lobuche peak to freshen their climbing techniques and get better acclimatised.

For aspiring mountaineers, the Lobuche expedition is the best. This peak, typically trekkers' peak, is an extended trip to Everest Base Camp. Thus, with ideal fitness, climbers with no prior climbing experience find this peak a moderate climb. Our climbing Sherpa guides train you on the Lobuche East Base Camp before pushing the summit.

However, some alpine skills like abseiling on snow, hiking on crampons, ice axes, and climbing with fixed rope become best.

Health and Fitness for Lobuche Peak Climbing

While climbing high-altitude terrain and a mountain of 6,000 metres, you have to be physically sound. Also, you must have your medical checkups and good report before joining the Lobuche East expedition.
