If you're planning a short trek in Nepal, the Langtang Valley is one of the easiest treks you can take. The trail is clearly marked, straight, and manageable. If you're not an experienced trekker, it's a good idea to trek Langtang.

The Langtang valley trek has a few different types of terrain. The first section of the trek begins in Syabrubesi, a small village on the Langtang River. After that, you'll begin ascending through bamboo forests and farmlands. You'll also come across numerous chortens and mani prayer walls.

In addition to the itinerary, the guide will give you important information about the area and culture. You'll learn about local customs, religion, and practices. It will also give you helpful tips on food and clothing.

While many people think that the Langtang valley is difficult, it's actually one of the most popular in Nepal. The landscape is breath-taking and there are many enchanting mountain villages. This area is rich in biodiversity and features some of the best flower displays. The region is home to diverse cultures, including the Tamang people who farm rice and other crops on steep terraces.

Langtang Valley

After the 2015 earthquake, the Langtang valley is nearly empty of tourists. This is because local people are rebuilding their lives. The landslides forced many people to leave the region, and they have returned to reclaim their homes and farms. It is important to support these people by trekking in Langtang Valley.

The trek can be extended to include the Tamang Heritage trail, which adds a further four to six days to your itinerary. This route also introduces you to the Tamang people, who originate from Tibet. You can also learn about their traditions and culture during the trek. The Langtang Valley trek is a perfect adventure for anyone who loves mountains, nature, and the wild.

Langtang Valley - Getting there

The Langtang Valley trek is one of the most popular and cost-effective treks in Nepal. After the 2015 earthquake, the Langtang valley trek was partially destroyed, but has since been repaired. The trek begins in Syabrubesi, a small village located alongside the Langtang Khola.

It passes by several teahouses and farmlands before continuing through bamboo and rhododendron forests. The route is well marked and relatively easy to navigate. However, if you are a solo traveler and are not familiar with the terrain, it is recommended that you hire a guide to help you with your trek.

Langtang Valley Trek – Best Time

The best time to trek the Langtang Valley is in the spring and autumn season, but there are also several other months that are ideal for trekking in the region. It's possible to trek Langtang in any season, but you may want to avoid the monsoon months of June, July, and August.

The monsoon season can be hot and humid, so be prepared to deal with mud and landslides. However, you can still trek during this time of year with the right preparation and a guide. If you're planning on trekking in the valley during these months, you should consider bringing extra days.

The most popular months for the trek are March, April May, September, October, and November, as you'll enjoy clear blue skies and mild temperatures. September and October are also a festive time, with festivals such as Dashain and Tihar.

    Langtang Valley

Thanks to Hari my friend and I were able to continuously practice Nepali and learn on the fly information about the background stories to the various villages and stories of Langtang National Park.He also stayed woke up in the middle of the night to hell monitor my well being one night when I received food poising. The hike was at a'fast' pace but also with a leisure time line in mind as we typically started each morning around 8 and would reach our planned destination by 1 or even 2pm each time.

At first I felt this may be slow but I soon came to respect this advice as it allowed us to walk around and just sit with the locals while truly taking in the views. This method even brought to us a huge playground style snowball fight with the local police as well as some story listening opportunities.I would reccomend these guides if your looking for some genuinely nice folks such as Hari and like to learn about the local culture and language from a consisten source.

    Great Experience

I went trekking in Langtang Valley the last week of March 2016. We were picked up at the airport by Suman (which is good because it would be sketchy trying to grab a cab on your own). We finished all the paperwork/permits/insurance that night and stayed in Kathmandu. We left early the next morning - myself, my friend, and our guide Hari, who was awesome. No administrative or logistical troubles to speak of.

Langtang was deeply affected by the earthquake last year, and Hari was able to answer all our questions. We were informed that normally 200 people enter the park each day, but in light of the damage caused, this year only about 10-15 people have been coming each day. So although the trails are new and were being refined as we hiked them, there was plenty of room on the trail.

By the end of the trip, my friend, Hari and I had become good friends, had many laughs, and enjoyed incredible scenery. Hari was very friendly and also maintained a good level of professionalism throughout the experience. He was there to answer questions, but did not "overguide" us, which let us create our own experience as we wanted it.

Purna, who we had only had contact with via phone before we arrived, took us out to dinner when we returned to Kathmandu, which was great as well.

I also want to note that both my friend and I left our jackets on the bus back to Kathmandu, but they tracked them down after the bus had left and shipped them to us in Japan. Pretty awesome.

Provided you know what you're getting into with trekking in the Himalayas, I can't recommend Dream Heaven Adventure enough.

    Awesome Langtang valley trip

The trip organized by Dream Heaven Adventure and Team was wonderful. Suman discussed about our travel needs and made possible all necessary preparations. Our experience in Nepal was incredible. Staffs of this company were brilliant.
Our guide Nabaraj was awesome; always explain about local area and safety. We feel totally comfortable with him. He really helps to get great accommodation, plenty of food and customized itinerary as per our requirements. Some other travelers we met on the way were having so jealousy because we got superb and quality service.
I have used many companies during my visit around Asia; I can say that they are the best of used. Dream Heaven Adventure was the only company that we felt comfortable. Thank you so much for organizing great trip. Highly recommend this trekking company!
