    Good to Know

    Island Peak Climbing difficulty

Island Peak climbing is a non-technical peak but demands strong physical fitness. As per the Himalayan standard, the Island peak difficulty is graded as Alpine PD+. Before we touch the Island Peak Base Camp, we will be trekking to the EBC and Kala Patthar. The trek will help us a lot to acclimatize before pushing towards the summit of the Island Peak.

The trekking route goes through dense forests and picturesque Sherpa villages. You will be crossing many steep sections and thrilling suspension bridges. Each day 6 to 7 hours walk is involved. The region will get very remote as you leave the tree line behind. It means even less modern comforts.

Overall, you have to prepare your body and mind to climb Island Peak. Your physical preparation should include walking long hours with a 5 kg day pack on a rough trail. You have to work on increasing your core body strength and stamina. The participants of Island Peak climbing should have previous trekking experience. Likewise, you have to prepare your mind to adjust to the limited services and remoteness of the Himalayas.

No need to bring expensive climbing gear

We provide all group climbers with necessary gears like La Sportiva climbing boot, sleeping bag, Exped down mattress, down jacket, etc. You do not need to invest in this expensive gear just for one trip. We will help you for gear renting in Kathmandu too.

    Good to know

    • Island peak climbing is a high-altitude journey with underlying risks like acute mountain sickness, unseen medical emergencies, etc. Even with our best efforts, things can take a turn in the Himalayas. Therefore, we need travel insurance for the trip. Travel insurance will make it easy for us to give you immediate assistance in any medical emergency. You must have airlift and medical coverage in your travel insurance.
    • The accommodation along the trekking route will be basic but comfortable and clean.
    • Our crew will set up tents and cook delicious meals for you during climbing.
    • After the trip ends, feel free to tip our on-field team members for their hard work.
