  • Q1. What type of accommodation is available in the Everest region?

In lower altitudes, there are luxurious hotels such as Everest view hotel, Everest Summit Lodge, Yeti Mountain Home along with basic tea houses. However, as the elevation increases luxurious facilities such as WiFi, room heating becomes scarce and there are only teahouses as accommodation. However, in recently built lodges have some luxurious facilities available.

  • The kind of food served is totally dependent upon the hotels you are dinning in. While luxurious hotels offer great range of delicacies from continental to American, normal tea houses often serve you traditional food, dal bhat for lunch and dinner.

  • The major problem while trekking the Everest region is impure drinking water. Drinking impure water leads to dehydration as it causes diarrhea. Thus, make sure you carry water purifier so that you can drink pure water in Everest.

  • Most of the teahouses in Everest are provided with squat toilets that doesn’t have automatic flushing system. However, in recently built lodges you might find automatic flush toilets ( western toilets).

  • No, absolutely not. There are no ages barrier while trekking EBC, however, do consult your doctor before your actual trek. They will provide you proper prescription needed to overcome difficulties that you might encounter during Short Everest Base Camp trek.

  • Although there are some ATMs available in places like Namche bazaar and lukla, you won’t find any ATMs in the Everest base camp. In fact, sometimes ATMs might run out of cash or machines might malfunction. Thus, carrying some cash is always a good option.

Everest Base camp trek - March 2019

We did an Everest Base camp trek for 12 days with Dream Heaven Adventures. we thoroughly enjoyed the trek and it was on almost most days with clear blue skies.

The views were amazing. We were fortunate to have gone through Dream heaven adventures and Suman made sure everything was planned accordingly. all went well with Lukla flights and accommodation in lodges and the Kathmandu city tour we did at the end.

We were also very lucky to have one of the best guide Huparaj Tamang leading us to EBC . He was very experienced knowledgeable and spoke good English. He looked after us very well and no request was too big for him. always cheerful and happy.

I would highly recommend this guide. overall the services we received from Dream Heaven adventures were all excellent. Thank you Suman and Huparaj .

    Memorable EBC Trek 2018

"Our EBC trip was indeed well-planned by Dream Heaven Adventure. Throughout the 12-day trek, we were in goods hands of our guide Huparaj, who provided great advice and ensured our safety as we progressively trekked in higher altitude.

His constant reminders to us to keep a positive mindset and to walk at own pace helped our group, all of whom are amateur hikers, to complete the EBC trek as planned. Outside the trek, Dream Heaven Adventure had also made their best efforts to meet our needs both in Lukla and Kathmandu. I highly recommend the company to anyone who wishes to do the EBC trek, whether in solo or group."
