Sun Koshi River Rafting

Sun Koshi River also known as “River of Gold” which might be named after gold found from the gravel of river while planning. Sun koshi originates from the mountainous region of Sindhupalchowk and Dolkha districts later combines with the Bhotekoshi following from China (Tibet).

Sunkoshi river rafting is one of the longest and most admired rafting tours of Nepal. The river rafting tour traverses 270 km through the sky-scarping ‘Mahabharat Range’ of central and eastern Nepal.

During the beginning of the voyage see high mountains, green hills, valleys, high cliffs whereas the final days witness the dramatic sudden change of landscapes around the corner from hilly region to the vast plains of Terai and northern India. Day 01: Upon arrival at Sunkoshi, brief about a full safety while in rafting. The big rapid you will encounter on that day is of class 4+ rapid “Rotten Cave”. We will choose our beach campsite and dinner will be served with self filled evening.

Day 02: Today you will encounter a big class 4+ rapid “Meat Grinder”. It is fairly straight run down the center avoiding holes left and right. A few meters below hear the Tama Koshi River joins the sunkoshi on the left. We make tented camp here and enjoy the night.

Day 03: After sometimes paddling join a Likhu Khola, class 3+ rapid. Pre-Anxiety soon followed by a long class 4 rapid high anxiety with a large whole on the left half way down and a series of wholes at the bottom float a while and them camp.

Day 04: Six hours rafting in hard and tiring as we have to pass through frequent rapids mostly a grade 4+ including we know “Khino Rock” and “Jungle Corridor” mile of incessant.

Day 05: Some km below Harkpur Dudh Koshi River joins the Sunkoshi from the left, easy paddling.

Day 06: Today you will have some little excitement with wave and if you are interested you can try kayaking where our experts will teach you the basic skills needed to maneuver the boats or learn the Eskimo roll

Day 07: Drive Back to Kathmandu, Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
