It covers of area of about 5.23 sq km with an average depth 806m with minimum water capacity of the lakes is approximately 4600000 cubic meters. The lake is famous for reflection of mount Machhapuchre and other mountain peaks of the Annapurna region and Dhaulagiri range on its surface. The Barahi Temple is situated on an island in the lake.

Begnas Lake

Begnas Lake is fresh water lake located in southeast part of the Pokhara valley. The lake is second largest after Phewa Lake among the eight lakes in Pokhara valley. Water level in the lake fluctuates seasonally due to rain and utilization for irrigation. The water level is regulated through a dam constructed 1998 on the western outlet stream, Khudi Khola.

International Mountain Museum

International Mountain Museum situated in the Pokhara opened on February 5, 2004. The museum spread over a total floor area of 4242 sq m of 12.5 acres of land. The museum contains three main exhibition halls- Hall of Great Himalaya, Hall of fame and Hall of World Mountain. It also contains models of famous peaks, mannequins of famous mountaineers, culture and lifestyle of mountain people, flora and fauna including geology.

Tal Barahi Temple

Worshipers folk here to perform sacrifices and especially on Saturdays the park like ground lake on the festive air. The temple is between Pokhara-Baglung Highway and the Ramkrishna Locality.

Mahendra Cave

Mahendra Cave is located north of Pokhara at an area known as Betulechaur. Regular micro buses and taxis are available to go to Mahendra cave from Pokhara. The cave is one of the most popular visiting spot in Pokhara.
