Gosainkunda Festival Trek

Gosainkunda Festival trekis special spiritual trip for those who have an interest in festivals of Nepal. This festival is celebrated in Janai Purnima, normally end of August. On the festival of Janai Purnima the most pious Hindu devotees who have time and can afford it, make a pilgrimage to Gosainkunda, the mountain lakes which are regarded as sacred to Lord Shiva.

Devotees gather here in hordes on the full moon night of August to take holy dips in the lake. Traditional faith healers called Jhankris, dressed in belted white robes and crowned with porcupine quills and peacock feathers, perform ritual dances to throbbing drumbeats night and day. Gosainkunda is situated at north of Kathmandu valley on the Langtang trekking region.

This Gosaikunda Festival Trekking trail is also famous for beautiful waterfall and green forest. During this trek, anyone can experience the lifestyles of diverse ethnic groups along the trail.

Day 01: We will meet you at Tribhuwan International airport, Kathmandu and transferred to the hotel, overnight at hotel. 

Day 02: After your breakfast we will start a guided tour to the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu valley, overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu drive to Dhunche drive. (1950m), about 6 hours drive, overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 04: Dhunche trekking to Sing Gompa (3350m), overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 05: Sing Gompa trekking to Gosainkunda (4320m), overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 06: Celebration of Gosainkunda Festival, , overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 07: Gosinkunda to Lauribinayak Pass to Ghopte(4610m), overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 08: Ghopte trekking to Tharepati (3510m) , overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 09: Tharepati trekking to Kutumsang (2470m ), overnight at Guesthouse/Lodge. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included

Day 10: Kutumsang trekking to Chisapani (2215m) & Drive back to Kathmandu, overnight at Kathmandu hotel

Day 11: Transfer to Tribhuwan international airport for your final departure.
