As many as 37,124 foreigners visited the Sagarmatha National Park area in 2014.
The region contains well known high mountains including the world´s highest peak, Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha).
According to the Namche based Office of the Park, the number of foreign tourists visiting the area increased by 1,353 persons as compared to the previous year. The number of tourists visiting the region was 35,571 in 2013.
The highest 9,463 foreign tourists visited the region in October while the lowest number was 930 in January, said Laxman Paudel, Assistant Conservation Officer of the Park.
